- Under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, the Psychotherapist (Dependent) FFS provides direct clinical services to individuals, collateral family members and groups. This includes providing direct psychotherapy treatment, performing assessments as need, developing treatment plans and guiding the treatment process.
- Develops a treatment plan and goal based on assessment with Clinical Supervisor.
- Integrates and provides therapeutic services in or home of person served through consultation with parent/guardian and staff as needed.
- Documents activities and results on patients’ records in accordance with practices’ policy and procedures.
- Documents progress on all active cases in therapy, monitors therapy status, and makes appropriate recommendations as changes occur.
- Refers patients to other clinical services if such referral is felt appropriate.
- Follows all regulations regarding service provision and billing.
- Participates in Quality Assurance activities as needed.
- Participates in Clinical Supervision in accordance with practice guidelines, scope of practice and state regulations.
- Maintains up‑to‑date licensure in accordance with IPSIDD regulations.
- Maintain a minimum caseload of 10 individuals (equivalent to about 4 hours of therapy).
- Performs other related duties as requested.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Good interpersonal skills are required in order to interact effectively with employees, co‑workers, patients, their families, other programs, outside contacts, etc.
- Due to sensitive nature of the position, must be able to maintain the strictest confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
- Good organizational skills.
- Master’s in Social Work, Masters in Mental Health Counseling, Masters in Child and Family Therapy or must have a Master’s degree in a clinical and/or treatment field of psychology.
Current NY State license as Licensed Master Social Work (LMSW), Marriage and Family Therapist or License Mental Health Counseling, required. Current Medicare and Medicaid enrollment preferred. New York State OPWDD IPSIDD providers strongly preferred.
