ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Creates lesson plans and conducts Computer classes at day program sites and in the community.
- With the assistance of individuals, establishes and maintains a Day Habilitation website.
- Orders and maintains supplies.
- Assists programs in organizing staffing, transportation and logistics for community based Computer activities.
- Creates compelling and attractive flyers to advertise upcoming opportunities.
- Teaches individuals to use a variety of programs.
- Teaches individuals Computer safety and privacy protection.
- Identifies community organizations to collaborate with, and establishes opportunities for individuals to interact and collaborate with.
- Implements universal precautions at all times.
- Participates in in-service training programs as requested.
- Provides supervision and guidance to Direct Support Professionals during classes and community events.
- Keeps abreast of changes in the field.
- Performs other related duties as requested.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Thorough knowledge of Computers, including relevant software.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organization skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in the use of a personal computer and appropriate software.
- Good interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with coworkers, individuals served, employees, parents and outside contacts.
- Ability and willingness to adjust work schedule to attend and facilitate events that occur outside of regular business hours.
- Ability and willingness to travel to various program sites.
- Bachelor’s Degree, or High School Diploma and significant completion of college level computer courses.
- At least six months experience with individuals with disabilities.
