Position: Recreation Leader
Location: Brooklyn, NY
Shift: PRN | 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Pay Rate: $16.50/hr
Atrium Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing is seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate Recreation Leader to join our team. In this role, you’ll help plan and lead engaging activities that enhance the physical, social, and emotional well-being of our residents.
Responsibilities:Assist in planning, organizing, and evaluating recreation programs.
Encourage and motivate residents to participate in group and individual activities such as games, crafts, religious services, parties, and community outings.
Observe and document resident participation, behavior, and progress.
Support residents through one-on-one visits, re-motivation, and reality orientation sessions.
Involve residents and families in planning recreation goals and care plans.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure well-coordinated activities.
Assist with setup, supervision, and cleanup of activity areas.
Maintain proper use of recreation supplies and equipment.
Transport residents to and from programs within the facility.
Uphold HIPAA requirements and facility policies.
1 year of experience (nursing home or long-term care experience preferred).
Ability to understand and communicate in English.
Empathy, patience, and strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to make independent decisions and bring creativity to activity programming.
Professionalism and respect when interacting with residents, families, and staff.
