Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant with a passion for providing excellent patient care. This role involves performing routine medical assistant tasks and phlebotomy under the direction of the Medical Practice Manager. You will work closely with the Clinical staff to ensure high-quality healthcare services.

Responsibilities

+ Perform routine medical assistant functions consistently according to policy and best practices, ensuring privacy and dignity for participants.

+ Accurately document participant's vital signs in the electronic medical record, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height, and weight.

+ Draw blood and collect specimens following Infection Control protocols and established policies.

+ Process and prepare specimens for pick-up, ensuring proper identification, centrifuging, and refrigeration as required.

+ Order laboratory tests based on physician's written orders, track test results, and inform physicians of canceled lab tests.

Essential Skills

+ 1 or more years of phlebotomy experience, preferably with a geriatric population.

+ High School Diploma or equivalent

+ Medical Assistant certification or certified phlebotomist.

+ Bilingual in Cantonese, Mandarin, or Fuzhounese preferred

+

Experience with electronic health records and insurance verification.

Work Environment

The position is based in an office/clinic environment, operating from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a 40-hour workweek and a 1-hour lunch break.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brooklyn, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
