Mobile Phlebotomist (Brooklyn/Queens)
We are seeking an experienced Mobile Phlebotomist to join our team, covering the Brooklyn and Queens areas. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of recent phlebotomy experience, be proficient with both butterfly and straight needles, and have strong communication skills. This role requires a reliable individual who is punctual and able to float across locations in the Bronx with their own vehicle.
Responsibilities:
- Perform blood draws and label specimens accurately.
- Centrifuge specimens and record maintenance data.
- Decontaminate equipment and update patient information.
- Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
- Clearly explain the venipuncture and specimen collection process to patients.
- Demonstrate techniques using straight and butterfly needles.
- Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
- Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
- Ensure test requisitions or computer labels are 100% correct.
- Package specimens for transport.
- Store specimen samples at the required temperature and in the appropriate collection containers.
- Follow procedures to maintain specimen integrity during transport.
Essential
Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
- Proficiency with butterfly and straight needles.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Additional Skills &
Qualifications:
- Experience working with the geriatric population is a plus.
- Reliable transportation is required.
Work Environment:
The position involves covering various locations in Brooklyn and Queens, with the responsibility of seeing up to 15 patients daily. The schedule is Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 4 pm, with no weekend work required. All tolls, parking, and mileage between stops are reimbursed.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elmhurst, NY.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
