Assistant General Manager
Kings Athletic Club is a private membership club located in Brooklyn Heights at the historic Hotel St. George. We are a community built around best-in-class sport, wellness, and hospitality — a genuine second home for our members and their families. Every detail of the KAC experience is designed so that members feel known, cared for, and at home from the moment they walk through the door.
We are looking for an experienced hospitality professional to join KAC as Assistant General Manager. This is a broad operational role that supports the General Manager across all aspects of club management — from front desk oversight and member communications to vendor coordination and day-to-day service delivery.
You are not a department head. You are the person who makes sure everything runs — that the front desk team is performing, that members are heard and responded to, and that no operational detail falls through the cracks. You operate with maturity, discretion, and a genuine commitment to the KAC standard.
Front Desk and Member Services
- Oversee daily front desk operations and ensure service standards are consistently met across all shifts
- Coach and support the front desk team in real time — leading by example, not from behind a desk
- Serve as the escalation point for member concerns that require managerial judgment
- Ensure every member interaction — in person, by phone, text, and email — reflects KAC's concierge-level standard
Member Communications
- Manage and coordinate outbound member communications across all channels
- Maintain deep familiarity with member preferences, routines, and household details
- Work closely with the GM to draft, review, and send member-facing correspondence
- Support member onboarding and ensure new members feel welcomed from day one
Operations Support
- Support the GM across a broad range of operational work streams including programming, vendor coordination, and facilities
- Identify operational gaps and bring solutions — not just problems — to the GM
- Maintain internal documentation, SOPs, and operational logs
- Assist with staff scheduling and coverage planning
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in private club, luxury hotel, boutique fitness, or high-end hospitality management
- A hands-on operator who is equally comfortable on the floor and behind a spreadsheet
- Strong written and verbal communication — polished, warm, and precise across all channels
- Proven experience managing or mentoring front-facing service teams
- Calm under pressure with sound judgment and a high degree of discretion
- Genuine passion for member experience and the details that make it exceptional
- Proficiency with booking and club management systems
Schedule
This is a full-time position requiring 5 shifts per week. The schedule will be Thursday through Monday, from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
What We Offer
- Full-time position with direct access to club leadership
- A purpose-built environment in one of Brooklyn's most iconic buildings
- The opportunity to help shape a world-class private club from the ground up
