Senior Software Engineer

A fast-scaling AI startup is hiring a Senior Full Stack Engineer to be a cornerstone of the early engineering team. You’ll own critical parts of the platform across both front-end (React/Type Script) and back-end (NestJS/Node.js), while also managing and scaling AWS cloud infrastructure.

Beyond coding, you’ll mentor junior engineers, lead technical discussions, and help shape architecture decisions. You’ll work closely with AI/ML engineers to integrate LLM-powered services into production systems, ensuring scalability, security, and reliability. This role offers direct collaboration with founders and real ownership in a high-growth environment.

This role is hybrid - 4 days/week in-office in Brooklyn

• Design, build, and scale core features across the stack
• Own services built with React + Type Script, NestJS + PostgreSQL
• Integrate AI/LLM-powered services (OpenAI, Anthropic, Lang Chain, RAG pipelines) into production
• Manage AWS infrastructure (ECS/EKS, RDS/Postgres, networking, monitoring, security) with IaC (Terraform/CDK/Cloud Formation)
• Lead technical discussions, architecture, and system design decisions
• Ensure code quality via reviews, testing, and best practices
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team growth
• Help shape engineering culture, processes, and roadmap decisions

• 6+ years of professional full-stack software engineering experience
• Deep React experience with modern front-end architectures
• Strong back-end expertise in Node.js, REST APIs, async flows
• Hands-on experience with Postgre
  
  SQL or other relational DBs
• Proven AWS infrastructure management & scaling experience
• Experience integrating LLMs and AI APIs into production systems
• Strong communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-autonomy startup environment

• Experience with Playwright, Jest, or other testing frameworks
• Background in procurement, supply chain, or B2B SaaS
• Track record of contributions to 0→1 products or early-stage startups
• Senior-level equity ownership (0.5–1%)
