ABOUT US
DeepIP is helping patent agents and attorneys streamline the process of drafting patent applications. Our product leverages the latest advances in AI—like foundation models—to accelerate the fundamental steps involved in building these applications. In 2025, we experienced tremendous growth, and we’re looking for passionate, driven individuals to help us accelerate further and reach new heights.
We are a team of collaborative hustlers, ambitious learners, and ownership champions. If you're excited about a fast-paced, flexible environment where growth is celebrated and every day brings new possibilities, join us on this exciting journey 🚀.
THE ROLEWe’re looking for a Patent Agent who will be deeply involved in product development—as the “voice of patent practice” inside the team.
You will work hand-in-hand with Product, Engineering, Design, and Customer teams to:
ensure our workflows reflect real drafting practice,
maintain a high bar for quality, and
continuously push the product toward better outputs and better user experience.
This is not a traditional “support” role. You will help shape what we build.
AS A PATENT AGENT – PRODUCT SPECIALIST AT DeepIP, YOU WILLBe embedded in product developmentPartner closely with PMs, engineers, and designers to define workflows that match real-world patent drafting.
Review early concepts, prototypes, and features to ensure they align with professional standards and user expectations.
Translate drafting best practices into clear product requirements and acceptance criteria.
Define what “good” looks like for outputs (structure, completeness, clarity, support for claim strategy, consistency, etc.).
Review product outputs regularly, identify weaknesses, and propose concrete improvements.
Help build internal quality processes (rubrics, checklists, evaluation datasets, QA routines).
Join customer calls as a domain expert; extract nuanced insights and turn them into actionable improvements.
Validate that the product supports different drafting styles and jurisdictions (where applicable).
Help train the team on patent drafting concepts to raise the collective domain understanding.
Contribute to demos, content, or enablement by ensuring we present the product in a way that resonates with practitioners.
Help craft messaging around quality and best practices (without over promising).
You are a qualified patent agent / patent attorney (or equivalent depending on jurisdiction) with solid hands-on drafting experience.
You have meaningful experience drafting and prosecuting patents (ideally in at least one technical domain).
You have a high quality bar and can articulate what’s wrong, why it matters, and how to improve it.
You can communicate clearly with non-lawyers: translating practice realities into product guidance.
You enjoy collaborating, iterating, and shipping improvements—not just giving feedback.
You are comfortable working in a fast-moving environment where the product evolves weekly.
Experience with AI-assisted drafting tools or evaluating model outputs.
Interest in Legal Tech / workflow tools / SaaS products.
Experience with quality frameworks (rubrics, datasets, review processes).
Exposure to multiple jurisdictions (EP/US/UK) or multiple practice areas.
Intro Call – A 30-minute conversation to get to know you and your motivations.
Focus Interview – A discussion to explore your background and way of working.
Live Case Study (with the Product Leadership Team) – A live working session on a realistic case to understand how you think and collaborate. We’ll focus on in-house IP workflows and product trade-offs (quality vs. speed vs. risk), and how you turn domain insights into clear product requirements.
Co-founder Interview – Final alignment on ownership, pace, and vision.
DeepIP is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, sex, gender, sexual orientation, age, colour, religion, national origin, protected veteran status or on the basis of disability.
