AS400 Director​/Mgr Operations

This is an on‑site position – MUST have a car and be willing to drive to Brooklyn, New York (5 days a week – onsite) with no flexibility.

• Develop and execute the long‑term roadmap for IBM i systems supporting retail enterprise application environments.
• Drive modernization initiatives including high availability, IASP optimization and support the transformation of legacy applications.
• Oversee day‑to‑day operations of IBM i servers and applications, ensuring uptime for 24/7 operations.
• Manage system performance, capacity planning, auditing, high availability and disaster recovery for highly regulated platforms.
• Own policies, documentation, access controls and operational procedures related to IBMi environments.
• Lead and mentor a blended team, fostering a high‑performance culture with strong accountability, communication and customer service.
• Serve as a subject‑matter expert for all IBM i related initiatives, enhancements and system impacts.
• Manage vendor relationships with managed service partners and IBM i software vendors, including oversight of 3–4 operators.

• 10+ years of experience with AS400 iSeries, System i systems.
• 5+ years of leadership in IBM i IT operations and enterprise systems management.
• Strong expertise in CL, SQL, DB2 for i and IBM systems administration.
• RPG experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated experience working within strict regulatory, auditing and security frameworks.
• MUST HAVE a strong background with AS400 iSeries.
