Position Overview:

Analyzes an organization or business domain (real or hypothetical) and documents its business or processes or systems, assessing the business model or its integration with technology with distinct deliverables to a solution. Business Analyst for GIS. Responsibilities:
Business Analysis & Project Support:
Assist with gathering, documenting, and analyzing business and technical requirements. Support project managers and business teams in coordinating project activities, timelines, and deliverables. Create and maintain user stories, process documentation, workflow diagrams, and business process maps. Help facilitate meetings, status updates, and communication between technical teams and business stakeholders. Utility Technology & Digital Transformation:
Support digital transformation initiatives involving enterprise repositories, workflows, mapping systems, and operational tools. Assist with backlog management and project tracking using Azure Dev Ops or similar platforms. Coordinate testing activities, issue tracking, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) support. Assist with reporting, data validation, and operational process improvements. Documentation & Communication:
Develop professional presentations, reports, SOPs, and training documentation for business and leadership audiences. Create workflow diagrams and technical documentation using Visio or similar tools. Communicate clearly and professionally with technical teams, management, and business users. Data & Technology Support:
Support data migration, validation, and automation initiatives using tools such as Python, SQL, or Oracle databases. Assist with organizing and maintaining enterprise records and repositories. Participate in technology implementation efforts and process improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree completed or in progress in:
Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Engineering, Related technical field Strong internship or co-op experience within a utility company environment Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and self-management abilities Demonstrated initiative, accountability, and determination Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines

Experience with :
Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Azure Dev Ops Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams Ability to document business requirements and translate them into clear technical requirements. Administration and testing of Enterprise GIS and Database Projects Consistent UI design Figma Microsoft Office Visio

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with :
Python, SQL, Oracle databases, Figma, Workflow/process mapping, QA/UAT coordination Exposure to GIS, mapping systems, or enterprise utility applications is a plus. Experience supporting digital transformation or operational improvement initiatives preferred. Highly organized and detail-oriented Professional and dependable Eager to learn and grow Comfortable speaking with leadership and business stakeholders Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with teams Passionate about improving processes and supporting enterprise initiatives Ability to execute existing SQL queries Ability to intrepid, modify and write scripts and SQL queries Apps/.NET
