EDI & Operations Specialist

We are looking for an organized, detail-oriented EDI & Operations Specialist to join our operations team. This role goes beyond traditional EDI. While experience managing EDI order flow is essential, we are looking for someone who enjoys working with operational systems, improving processes, coordinating across departments, and ensuring the smooth flow of information from customer purchase orders through fulfillment and invoicing.

The ideal candidate will work closely with our internal operations team, customers, warehouses, and our EDI provider to maintain accurate data, troubleshoot issues, and support our day-to-day business operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage EDI transactions with retail, wholesale, and marketplace trading partners.
• Monitor and troubleshoot EDI order flow, ensuring documents are processed accurately and on time.
• Coordinate with our external EDI provider on mapping, testing, trading partner onboarding, and issue resolution.
• Process and validate EDI documents including 850 Purchase Orders, 855 Purchase Order Acknowledgments, 856 Advance Ship Notices (ASNs), and 810 Invoices.
• Help prevent chargebacks by ensuring data accuracy and compliance with customer requirements.
• Work daily within Microsoft Business Central to support operational processes, order management, inventory, customer data, and system accuracy.
• Coordinate with warehouse, customer service, accounting, and sales teams to resolve operational issues and improve workflows.
• Assist in maintaining ERP data integrity and support ongoing process improvements.
• Participate in testing new customers, workflows, and system enhancements as the business grows.

Qualifications

• Experience managing EDI for retail, wholesale, or marketplace customers.
• Strong understanding of EDI documents including 850, 855, 856, and 810.
• Experience working with ERP systems;
  Microsoft Business Central experience is a strong plus but not required.
• Experience with SPS Commerce or similar EDI providers is preferred.
• Familiarity with trading partner onboarding, mapping coordination, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Experience in wholesale, distribution, fashion, accessories, consumer goods, or a related industry is preferred.

Nice to Have

• Microsoft Business Central experience.
• SPS Commerce experience.
• WMS or warehouse operations experience.
• Marketplace experience (Amazon, department stores, major retailers, etc.).

The right candidate doesn't need to know every aspect of Microsoft Business Central on day one—we can train the right person—but they should be comfortable learning new systems, working cross-functionally, and taking ownership of operational processes from start to finish.
