** POSITION DETAILS
** New York City College of Technology (City Tech) of the City University of New York (CUNY), a comprehensive college in downtown Brooklyn offering associate and baccalaureate degrees, invites applications for a Director of Business Administrative Solutions to serve as a senior strategic leader in support of Administration and Finance operations. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Administration & Finance, the Director of Business Administrative Solutions will oversee complex administrative portfolios, ensure regulatory and fiscal compliance, and lead enterprise-level process modernization and organizational change initiatives.
In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, the duties of the Director of Administrative Solutions will include but not be limited to: + Provide strategic and operational oversight for core administrative functions, including purchasing, fiscal operations, campus services, asset management, and administrative support services. + Partner with senior leadership to plan, implement, and evaluate division-wide initiatives aligned with institutional priorities to support strategic planning and decision-making.
+ Serve as a senior liaison between Administration and Finance leadership and internal/external stakeholders. + Develop and monitor performance metrics, resource allocations, and deliverables to ensure effective portfolio management. + Lead and manage large-scale enterprise system initiatives (e.g., ERP, payroll, procurement, and administrative platforms), ensuring timely delivery, data integrity, and user adoption. + Administer procurement card (P-Card) programs, payment processing, and reconciliation controls, and serve in designated compliance leadership roles related to PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard), application security, and risk mitigation.
+ Architect and deliver organizational change management, training, and communication strategies to support system implementation and process modernization. + Provide executive coaching and guidance to managers navigating operational and workforce transformation initiatives. + Oversee full-time and part-time administrative staff, ensuring clear role definition, accountability, and professional development. + Establish and maintain tracking and reporting mechanisms (e.g., work request and service management systems) to support operational transparency and resource planning.
+ Develop and execute comprehensive communication plans, including executive-level reports, briefings and analyses, to provide regular updates to senior leadership on operational status, emergency situations, compliance matters, and priority initiatives. + Perform related duties as assigned.
** QUALIFICATIONS
* * Bachelor's Degree and eight years' relevant experience required.
** PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS** + Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field preferred. + A minimum of eight years of progressively responsible experience in finance, administration, operations, or enterprise systems management within a complex organization. + Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, fiscal management, compliance oversight, and organizational change leadership. + Exceptional analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills. + Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
** CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW
** As a senior staff member in a Campus or University Executive's office, leads unit initiatives, participates in planning and setting priorities, and drives strategic initiatives to ensure their success.
- Participates in planning and in setting policies with responsibility for preparing aspects of strategic and operational plans. Participates in developing and executing performance management systems to evaluate progress.
- Works with other Campus and University units to oversee complex, high-priority projects, with responsibility for outcomes.
- Represents the Executive in Campus or University-wide activities and may act in his/her place when required.
- Independently carries out major responsibilities under the Executive's purview, such as monitoring and evaluating unit activities, financial planning and review, serving as chair of key committees, and communications with senior Campus or University management.
- May serve as Chief of Staff of a large Executive Office.
