Director of Operations
Suffern (Once or two times a week in Brooklyn NY)
Our client, a growing IT company, is seeking an experienced and highly capable Director of Operations to oversee day-to-day operations and ensure the organization runs efficiently, smoothly, and effectively.
This is a senior leadership position for someone with a strong IT background and proven experience managing teams, including offshore teams. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can oversee multiple functions, improve processes, hold teams accountable, and ensure projects and daily operations stay on track.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the company's day-to-day operations and ensure everything is running smoothly
- Lead, manage, and develop internal and offshore teams
- Establish clear goals, expectations, and performance standards for teams
- Coordinate operations across multiple departments and functions
- Monitor workflows, productivity, deadlines, and overall team performance
- Identify operational inefficiencies and implement solutions to improve processes
- Work closely with leadership to develop and execute operational strategies
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration between onshore and offshore teams
- Manage multiple priorities, projects, and initiatives simultaneously
- Develop processes and systems that improve efficiency, accountability, and scalability
- Troubleshoot operational issues and ensure timely resolution
- Monitor KPIs and operational performance
- Provide regular updates and recommendations to senior leadership
- Ensure teams have the resources and support needed to perform effectively
- Help drive technology and process improvements throughout the organization
Qualifications:
- Proven experience managing and leading teams
- Experience managing offshore or distributed teams strongly preferred
- Strong understanding of IT operations, systems, and technology
- Demonstrated ability to oversee multiple departments, projects, and priorities
- Strong leadership and people-management skills
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to hold teams accountable while maintaining a positive and collaborative work environment
- Experience developing and improving operational processes
The ideal candidate is a strong leader who understands both technology and business operations. They should be comfortable managing people, including offshore teams, while maintaining visibility into the company's day-to-day operations. This person needs to be a strategic thinker who can also roll up their sleeves, solve problems, manage competing priorities, and make sure the organization continues to operate efficiently.
Compensation & Benefits:
- $150,000–$250,000+ salary, depending on experience
