We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Payroll Director to lead and manage our payroll operations. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in payroll compliance, systems, and process improvement. This role ensures accurate and timely payroll for all employees and compliance with federal and state regulations.

Key responsibilities include overseeing and processing biweekly payroll for 800+ employees, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, managing payroll systems, and working with HR and Finance teams to streamline data flow and accuracy. The role also involves maintaining payroll policies, procedures, and documentation for audits and regulatory requirements, leading payroll-related projects, including system upgrades, automation, and reporting improvements, partnering with HR and Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and employee compensation reporting, and providing excellent internal customer service to staff regarding payroll inquiries.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field (or equivalent experience), minimum 5 years of progressive payroll experience; nonprofit experience a plus, proven leadership in payroll operations and systems management, strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations, and excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
