Senior Grant Writer

CAMBA is a community of staff, volunteers, clients, donors, neighbors and partners who work together to build an inclusive New York City, where all children and adults have access to the resources and supports, they need to thrive. Education & Youth Development, Family Support, Job Training & Employment Support Services, Health, Housing, and Legal Services. We reach almost 80,000 individuals and families, including almost 13,000 youth. CAMBA serves a diverse cross section of New Yorkers from new mothers in Brownsville to job seekers in the Rockaways. More than half of our clients are immigrants and refugees from around the globe.

Over 85% of our families are living in poverty, reflecting the challenges faced by nearly 1.7 million New Yorkers today.

CAMBA's Office of Development & Communications is responsible for informing funders, stakeholders and community members about CAMBA' work in order to further the organization's development and growth. The Development Unit is responsible for developing and achieving CAMBA's government, philanthropic and individual fundraising goals.

The Senior Grant Writer manages a portfolio of public and private grants including writing, preparation and submission of all grant proposals, letters of intent, reports and other written materials. They identify and research government and private sources of funding within the portfolio and as requested for other programs by the Senior Director of Institutional or SVP. They demonstrate knowledge and understanding of government contracting requirements and budgeting.

They write, edit, and proofread proposals to obtain funds for on-going or new programs and for special projects. They conduct research to support proposal development and other projects as assigned. They ensure timely financial reporting of all private grants in coordination with program and fiscal staff. They conduct semi-annual review of programmatic content of agency website. They interact and communicate with senior management, program level staff, the DARE team (Data Analysis, Research & Evaluation) and government/foundation representatives during the proposal design, development and implementation phases to ensure agreement with goals and objectives, scope, feasibility, and program funding needs.

Minimum Education /Experience

Required:

Bachelor's Degree

Other Requirements:
Three (3) years of demonstrated success as a grant writer in a mid-sized (500+ employees) organization. Excellent written & verbal communication, and interpersonal skills. Exceptional problem-solving skills. Able to synthesize data and information into one compelling voice and story. Strong project management skills. Enjoys working independently and as part of a team. Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiar with public (NYC, NYS and federal) and private grants and contracts. Skilled at working across multiple teams and with staff of varying levels of seniority, including executives, to produce timely and high-quality deliverables

Compensation: $75,000 - $90,000 annually When salary ranges are listed, the range would represent the low and high end for the applicable position & program. The salary offered would be based on various factors unique to each program and candidate. This includes but is not limited to experience, education, budget and/or program size, internal equity, skills and other factors that may be required for the position and organization.

Status:
