Nurse Practitioner
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a mid-level health care provider, who works collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary health team and is responsible for providing direct comprehensive care to patients and supervision of ancillary staff. The NP educates the patient, family/significant other by promoting wellness, preventing health care problems, maintaining current health status, and intervening in acute or chronic illness.
ResponsibilitiesEducation:
- Master's Degree Program in Nursing / Nurse Practitioner
Experience:
- Minimum one (1) years nursing experience required.
- At least one (1) year as nurse practitioner experience preferred.
Knowledge and
Skills:
- Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with EMR software preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Current competency and knowledge of standards of practice, trends, and developments in related scope of job role or practice.
- Demonstrated excellent customer service through his/her attitude and actions, consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission, and Values of the organization.
- Ability to fully utilize OBH's electronic record systems, equipment and other healthcare and billing systems relevant to this position.
Licenses,
Certifications:
- Current NYS Nurse Practitioner License required.
- Current NYS RN License required.
- Current Nurse Practitioner Board certification in specialty area, required.
Physical Requirements :
- Position requires prolonged periods of standing, reaching, walking throughout the working day.
- Position will be required to stoop, bend, lift, and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Able to lift 100 pounds, if necessary, to assist lifting and moving patients.
- An individual in this position may be exposed to: adverse indoor and outdoor environmental conditions, Blood borne pathogens, Physical hazards (e.g., needle pricks, etc.), and Chemical hazards.
