Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Part-Time)
Location:
Brooklyn, NY Job Type: Part-Time (Permanent) Practice Setting:
Outpatient Behavioral Health / Integrated Primary Care
Schedule:
21 Hours Per Week
Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (Part-Time)
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and mental health assessments
- Diagnose and treat acute and chronic psychiatric conditions
- Develop individualized treatment plans and provide medication management
- Perform risk assessments and crisis intervention as needed
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly
- Collaborate with physicians, social workers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Participate in care coordination and interdisciplinary treatment planning
- Provide preventive mental health screenings and patient education
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation within EHR systems
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and chart reviews
Qualifications:
- Active New York State Nurse Practitioner license
- Board Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
- Minimum 2 years of PMHNP experience preferred
- Experience treating pediatric and adult patient populations preferred
- Strong psychiatric assessment and medication management skills
- Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR)
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
- Team-oriented and professional attitude
