POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a full-time Accounts Manager to grow and manage the wholesale side of our home fragrance business. This role oversees wholesale accounts, wholesale merchandising, and trade shows. This role is responsible for growing and maintaining relationships with major wholesale accounts, as well as cultivating new wholesale business opportunities.

This is a hybrid role based in Sunset Park, Brooklyn, with standard hours Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm. The Accounts Manager must be able to commute to our Brooklyn studio and retail store on a regular basis (schedule to be determined by your manager), and attend in-person events, trade shows, and account visits as needed. This role has no direct reports initially, but may manage an accounts support role in the future, and will report directly to the Director, Sales + Marketing.

Candidates should be strong communicators, detail-oriented, and able to stay organized and accountable while working across a diverse range of internal and external partners.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES WHOLESALE ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
  • Manage wholesale accounts, including regular check-ins and follow ups to ensure re-orders, and general customer service
  • Input orders into our internal systems for production and shipping, using Cin7 Core, Quickbooks, and Google Sheets, as well as vendors’ various internal systems
  • Work with heads of production and shipping to ensure inventory availability and on-time shipments
  • Update buyers on inventory and shipping status
  • Invoice to accounts’ specifications
  • Work with customers on product selection, samples, unit projections, order timing, etc.
  • Collaborate closely with the Accounts Assistant and provide coverage/support as needed; this role may eventually oversee the Accounts Assistant, including their day-to-day customer service responsibilities and Faire wholesale platform management.
  • Provide monthly sales reporting to management
TRADE SHOW AND EVENTS COORDINATION
  • Coordinate with the creative team for necessary assets like catalogs, booth design and decor, etc.
  • Help prep for each show by gathering, organizing, and packing all necessary display products, samples, and supplies.
  • On site - attend shows, set up and take down booth, take orders and liaise with buyers
  • Research additional trade shows that fit our brand’s needs and image
WHOLESALE MARKETING AND MERCHANDISING
  • Keep all wholesale channels up-to-date with accurate product selection and inventory. Current channels include but are not limited to BCS Wholesale Shopify storefront, Faire, Shoppe Online, Nu Order
  • Conduct seasonal audits and update assets for major seasonal changes, product launches, and holidays (ie Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day)
  • Work with Marketing Manager on wholesale marketing calendar (for direct email and Faire) based on seasons, new launches, promotions, and product updates.
WHOLESALE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
  • Seek out fruitful opportunities with new retailers, both independent and national distributors, department stores, or sales representatives
  • Spearhead new international business, especially within Europe and Asia
OTHER SALES RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist Head of Sales and/or Head of Production with monthly unit projections
  • Pull international sales data for quarterly VAT reporting
  • Understand basics of our DTC channel, able to jump in to assist on customer service as needed, including order status inquiries and providing evidence for chargebacks
  • Manage Bulk and Corporate Orders
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Shared office space within a warehouse environment (temperature-controlled). Occasional travel/field work for trade shows and account visits.
