Maintenance Technician / Mechanic

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to work in the Brooklyn/NYC Metro area.
In this role, you will be providing monthly service to our customer's elevators ensuring that the equipment is functioning properly. You will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctioning systems, repairing or replacing defective parts.
Responsibilities- Inspect elevators of all types and makes, determine the cause of faulty operation, make repairs and adjustments, and troubleshoot problems.
- Diagnose deficiencies of equipment and make recommendations for major changes or requirements.
- Install, maintain, and repair elevators, escalators, and other lifting equipment.
- Analyze and repair failures, especially in emergency situations.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues.
- Repair or replace defective parts.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure equipment is functioning properly.
- Respond to emergency repair calls in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed.
- Provide excellent customer service to building owners and occupants.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 5+ years of experience as a Mechanic.
- Ability to read blueprints, technical manuals and/or related technical documents.
- Experience as a route mechanic.
- Ability to follow established safety, maintenance and/or testing procedures.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical malfunctions.
- Previous experience with rack & pinion and/or crane repair is helpful.
- CET is strongly preferred.
