ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

Maintaining all aspects of the building (interior and exterior) by performing any necessary minor repairs. Minor repairs can include, but are not limited to certain aspects of:
Plumbing, Electrical, Painting, Wall repair, Carpentry, Masonry, Basic construction and repair, Basic appliance repair.

• Knowledge of fire codes / safety
• Move furniture when necessary
• Install, build, assemble Program equipment
• Shovel sidewalks of ice/snow
• Attend in-service trainings
• Report any safety/maintenance hazards to your supervisor and repairing what can be repaired
• Respond to work orders in a timely basis and provide exceptional customer service
• Be available to drive for any given program, in case of emergency, when available
• Attend scheduled meetings with the Facilities Supervisor and/or Manager
• Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions
• Light plumbing, change faucets, pull and reinstall rear mount toilets, snake drains with a power snake
• Interact appropriately and follow all regulatory items concerning the individuals we serve
• Mandatory attendance at required in-service training, along with ability to absorb and demonstrate compliance with all regulations and Block Institute policy and procedure requirements is required for this position
• Troubleshooting and making routine repairs in the following areas:
• Painting
• Minor Electrical
• Minor Plumbing

High School Diploma or GED

3 Years Experience Preferred

A valid NYS Drivers' License
