First Student is now hiring a gas-powered vehicle mechanic for our shop serving Brooklyn, NY.

Compensation and Benefits- $21 - $24 per hour based on experience and qualifications (NOT flat-rate)
- $0.25/ASE per hour for each relevant ASE

– Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair Ford E-350, Ford E-450, Ford Transit, and Ford 2024 EV, all with Braun wheelchair lifts, ensuring vehicle readiness and safety.
- Assist with preventive maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual DOT maintenance inspections.
- Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair including brakes, suspensions, drive trains, and transmissions.
- Ensure work orders are completed accurately.
- Assist with mobile emergency services.
- Valid driver's license required; willingness to obtain CDL while employed – we train.
- At least 1 year of automotive or diesel maintenance & repair experience or technical school education
- Possess a mechanic's tool set
- Willingness to participate in ASE certification program. Training, testing, and bonuses provided!
- Subject to DOT drug testing as a safety-sensitive employee. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
