Position Overview
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at NYU Tandon School of Engineering invites applications for full time, non-tenured, renewable faculty positions in Computer Science, at the level of Industry Assistant Professor or Industry Associate Professor, with a start date of September 2026.
Responsibilities & ExpectationsApplicants will provide classroom teaching in all areas of Computer Science, including undergraduate and graduate courses in algorithms, software engineering, artificial intelligence, machine learning, databases, operating systems, and security. Candidates should be excellent teachers with substantial experience. A minimum of an MS degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a closely related discipline is required; a Ph.D. is a strong advantage, as is a record of industrial experience, but neither is necessary.

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary (9‑month) range for this position is $115,000 – $140,000 for the Industry Assistant Professor rank and $110,000 – $160,000 for the Industry Associate Professor rank. Salary decisions consider scope and responsibilities, experience, education, key skills, internal equity, and market and organizational considerations.
