The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the NYU Tandon School of Engineering invites applications among the robotics community for two full-time, teaching-oriented, non-tenured, continuing contract faculty positions in Mechanical Engineering, at the rank of Industry Assistant Professor, starting January 1, 2025.
Primary Responsibilities- Classroom and laboratory teaching of robotics courses per semester.
- Mentoring projects and theses supporting the MS program in Robotics and undergraduate courses in the Robotics minor.
- Potential engagement in funded research if desired.
- Ph.D. in engineering or a science closely related to robotics (e.g., mechanical, electrical, computer, aerospace, industrial, civil engineering, or computer science).
- A solid understanding of fundamental robotics areas such as perception and sensing, planning and control, learning, and design.
- Hands‑on experience with robotics theories and software tools is a plus.
- Clear potential for scholarship, leadership, and curricular innovation.
- Demonstrated or potential excellence in teaching and mentoring.

The annual (9 month) base salary range for this position is $85,000–$125,000 for the Industry Assistant Professor rank.
