Overview

Expected salary range for this position is $145,000 - $185,000 depending on experience. TPC
- Building Projects, A Tutor Perini Company, is the company selected to execute construction of the Brooklyn Jail Project in New York. TPC
- Building Projects is seeking an MEP QC Field Engineer to join the project in Brooklyn, NY.

The approximate $3B project scope includes design and construction of a new state-of-the-art facility. The facility will contain 1,040 beds for men, programmatic elements such as a gymnasium, multi-purpose rooms, and educational and workforce development spaces. In addition, the facility will provide 30,000 square feet of community facility space, a below-grade tunnel connection to the Kings County Criminal Court building, a secured entry (sally port), and 100 accessory below-grade parking spaces for all staff and service providers.

Responsibilities
  • As an MEP QC Field Engineer at TPC, reporting to the QC Manager & Sr. Project Manager, you will have the opportunity to expand and develop standard operating procedures and processes to achieve the highest levels of quality associated with delivering a completed construction project.
  • Assist with the creation of project-specific Quality Management Plans and verify implementation of plans for each project.
  • Assist with the development of quality metrics that empower teams to review information on quality execution; work cross-functionally with operations to address any trend.
  • Manage a team of quality professionals to execute the administrative tasks related to reporting site evaluations, quality reporting requirements, and site-specific quality planning.
  • Conduct random site evaluations, including follow-up evaluations to ensure corrections have been made to deficiencies.
  • Create mechanisms for sharing best practices and quality issues across project teams and among all quality personnel.
  • Act as a resource for field operations with compliance on Federal and State regulatory requirements as well as local quality regulations including: ADA, ASHE, NFPA, UL, ASTM, and FBC.
  • Develop and update comprehensive training curriculum for all field operations, Quality Department staff, and subcontractors.
  • Stay abreast of trends and evolving best practices by participating in organizations and forums dedicated to Quality. Keep the Company informed of the latest updates on best practices and standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in MEP quality control in building construction projects.
  • Proven experience in conducting inspections, audits, and managing quality documentation.
  • Familiarity with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
  • Proficient with quality management software and MS Office.
  • Relevant certifications in quality management (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma) are a plus.
