- Building Projects, A Tutor Perini Company, is the company selected to execute construction of the Brooklyn Jail Project in New York. TPC
- Building Projects is seeking an MEP QC Field Engineer to join the project in Brooklyn, NY.
The approximate $3B project scope includes design and construction of a new state-of-the-art facility. The facility will contain 1,040 beds for men, programmatic elements such as a gymnasium, multi-purpose rooms, and educational and workforce development spaces. In addition, the facility will provide 30,000 square feet of community facility space, a below-grade tunnel connection to the Kings County Criminal Court building, a secured entry (sally port), and 100 accessory below-grade parking spaces for all staff and service providers.
Responsibilities- As an MEP QC Field Engineer at TPC, reporting to the QC Manager & Sr. Project Manager, you will have the opportunity to expand and develop standard operating procedures and processes to achieve the highest levels of quality associated with delivering a completed construction project.
- Assist with the creation of project-specific Quality Management Plans and verify implementation of plans for each project.
- Assist with the development of quality metrics that empower teams to review information on quality execution; work cross-functionally with operations to address any trend.
- Manage a team of quality professionals to execute the administrative tasks related to reporting site evaluations, quality reporting requirements, and site-specific quality planning.
- Conduct random site evaluations, including follow-up evaluations to ensure corrections have been made to deficiencies.
- Create mechanisms for sharing best practices and quality issues across project teams and among all quality personnel.
- Act as a resource for field operations with compliance on Federal and State regulatory requirements as well as local quality regulations including: ADA, ASHE, NFPA, UL, ASTM, and FBC.
- Develop and update comprehensive training curriculum for all field operations, Quality Department staff, and subcontractors.
- Stay abreast of trends and evolving best practices by participating in organizations and forums dedicated to Quality. Keep the Company informed of the latest updates on best practices and standards.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in MEP quality control in building construction projects.
- Proven experience in conducting inspections, audits, and managing quality documentation.
- Familiarity with local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications.
- Proficient with quality management software and MS Office.
- Relevant certifications in quality management (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma) are a plus.
