Compliance Officer- Real Estate Secured Originations

The Real Estate Secured Compliance Officer will be a member of the Real Estate Lending and Enterprise Default team within Compliance Risk Management. They will provide support to the Mortgage and Home Equity Origination lines of business by researching, interpreting, and assisting with applying the assigned laws and regulations to each applicable line of business processes and systems. They will provide consultative advice to applicable lines of business related to compliance, perform oversight activities and assume responsibility for mitigating and discouraging actions that may expose Key Corp and its affiliates to risk outside its desired risk appetite.

• For the Home Lending Origination line of business, serve as the corporate compliance subject matter expert.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of banking/consumer compliance laws and regulations and apply them to risk management strategies.
• Develop relationships of trust and confidence with the lines of business.
• Provide second line of defense oversight and monitoring of processes and controls, identify improvements and facilitate necessary changes.
• Document testing results in concise management reports and elevate significant risks.
• Review policies and procedures for consistency with current banking and securities regulations.
• Educate and provide consultative advice on various regulations.
• Provide independent review and challenge to various business activities.
• Participate in various projects related to mitigating risk to Key.
• Ensure that systems utilized by lines of business function in a compliant manner.

• Bachelor's Degree required; CRCM preferred

• 3+ years of experience in compliance, risk management, auditing, or related fields (required)
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a regulatory environment (required)

• Relevant certifications in compliance, auditing, or risk management (preferred)

• Understanding and applying laws and regulations relevant to banking and consumer finance.
• Evaluating potential risks and identifying control gaps in processes and systems.
• Conducting ongoing reviews to ensure adherence to compliance standards.
• Performing independent evaluations of controls and procedures to ensure regulatory alignment.
• Ensuring lending practices meet fair lending laws and guidelines.
• Identifying and mitigating risks that could disrupt business operations.
• Using analytical tools to interpret data and uncover compliance issues or trends.
• Assessing internal policies for consistency with current regulations.
• Documenting findings and communicating risks through clear, concise reports.
• Building strong relationships across departments to support compliance initiatives.
• Leading compliance-related projects and mentoring junior staff.
• Applying sound judgment in evaluating complex compliance scenarios.
• Clearly conveying compliance requirements and findings to diverse audiences.
• Staying current with regulatory changes and industry best practices.
• Designing effective solutions to address compliance challenges.

• General Office - Prolonged sitting, ability to communicate face to face in person or on the phone with teammates and clients, frequent use of PC/laptop, occasional lifting/pushing/pulling of backpacks, computer bags up to 10 lbs.

• Occasional travel to include overnight stay.

• Hybrid (3+ days)

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $71,000.00 - $ annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based upon various factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and geographic location. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for incentive compensation which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.
