Job Summary: The Legal Procurement Advisor provides legal counsel and contract support in Key's procurement department. This role is responsible for negotiating procurement agreements, advising on regulatory compliance, and ensuring that contracts align with Key's risk tolerance and business objectives. The advisor works closely with procurement strategists, internal clients, and risk partners to ensure that legal and regulatory requirements are met while enabling business goals.
Success in this role requires strong legal judgment, effective communication, and the ability to manage a high volume of contracts in a fast‑paced environment.
Location: 4900 Tiedeman Road, Brooklyn Ohio
Essential Functions- Draft, review, and negotiate procurement agreements to meet business, legal, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide timely and practical legal counsel to procurement associates and internal clients to support business objectives.
- Ensure contracts reflect the organization’s risk tolerance and comply with applicable regulatory obligations.
- Identify and assess legal and regulatory risks in procurement agreements, integrating appropriate risk language and escalating critical concerns as needed.
- Collaborate with compliance, risk, and legal teams—including external counsel—to mitigate potential issues and support contract execution.
- Conduct legal research and analyze laws and regulations relevant to procurement activities.
- Maintain awareness of legal and regulatory trends impacting procurement.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal clients and procurement teams, supporting cross‑functional initiatives and enterprise‑wide projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities, and/or activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.
- Comply with all Key Bank policies and procedures, including acting professionally at all times, conducting business ethically, avoiding conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key’s clients and Key.
- Doctor of Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent years of legal experience (preferred).
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant legal experience (preferred).
- Experience in procurement, commercial law, or financial services industry (preferred).
- Continuing legal education or certifications in procurement, commercial law, or financial services (preferred).
- Effectively drafts and negotiates procurement agreements.
- Identifies and interprets legal and regulatory risks.
- Understands compliance requirements in procurement and financial services.
- Delivers clear, concise legal advice and documentation.
- Builds strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Integrates legal risk mitigation strategies into procurement processes.
- Understands how legal decisions impact business operations.
- Prioritizes tasks to meet deadlines in a high‑volume environment.
- Provides responsive and practical legal support to internal clients.
- Maintains high ethical standards and respectful interactions.

- General Office – prolonged sitting, ability to communicate face to face in person or on the phone with teammates and clients, frequent use of PC/laptop, occasional lifting/pushing/pulling of backpacks, computer bags up to 10 lbs.
- Occasional travel to include overnight stay.
- Hybrid (3+ days).
This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $71,000.00 - $ annually. Placement within the pay range may differ based on skills, experience, and geographic location. Compensation also includes eligibility for incentive compensation, which may include production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.
