The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision and handling of all warehousing and distribution functions for the small parts warehouse for Vendors Exchange, which includes over 30,000 parts. Oversees the daily tasks of Warehouse Associates to ensure goals are met – primarily receiving, put-away, pulling, packing, and kitting of parts.
Key Areas of Responsibility- Manage the receiving, shipping, handling, distribution, and storage of all parts, products, and supplies that come in and out of the warehouse;
- Ensure all customer parts orders are shipped to customers in a timely manner;
- Ensure all internal parts orders and transfers are handled in a timely manner;
- Oversee all daily task requirements and assign tasks/adjust staffing assignments real time to ensure all tasks completed in a timely manner;
- Identify discrepancies between inventory records and take action by working with the appropriate internal department;
- Investigate causes of lost or damaged shipments and other matters; make adjustments where necessary;
- Coordinate with purchasing, logistics, customer service and other departments to support smooth operations;
- Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures for warehouse operations;
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations;
- Ensure compliance with standard packaging guidelines for small parcel shipping;
- Monitor performance metrics for warehouse operations, shipping and receiving. Make recommendations for new metrics to monitor;
- Identify process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and cost controls;
- Monitor employee performance and provide coaching, feedback and corrective action when needed;
- Accurately review, approve, and submit employee timecards in accordance with company payroll deadlines and policies;
- Manage employee attendance by tracking occurrences and consistently administering the company’s attendance policy;
- Review vacation and time‑off requests based on staffing needs and operational requirements;
- Address attendance and performance concerns in a timely manner, ensuring proper documentation and follow‑through;
- Administer disciplinary action, up to and including termination, in alignment with company policies and HR guidance;
- Partner with HR to ensure fair, consistent, and compliant application of policies and employee relations practices;
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma required;
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree highly preferred
- Proven team leader with strong work ethic and working knowledge of operations and warehouse management
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Organized and detail-oriented with ability to manage time between multiple projects
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including:
Outlook, Excel and Word - Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, or barcode scanning tools preferred
- Ability to stand, walk, bend and lift throughout the day
- Lift up to 30+ pounds
- Comfortable working in a warehouse environment that may include varying temperatures and noise levels
