What will you do? A day in the life of a Store Manager at The North Face includes the following responsibilities:
- Model exceptional customer service and selling behaviors to create a consumer‑centric in‑store experience.
- Partner with store leaders and associates to meet and exceed sales goals, monitoring progress against key performance indicators.
- Demonstrate brand‑specific service standards and selling behaviors to foster authentic customer engagement.
- Lead all aspects of people management, including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, promotions, and terminations.
- Shape store culture to align with company values and create a positive team environment.
- Provide coaching, feedback, and training in customer service, product knowledge, brand identity, and operational excellence.
- Assess customer interactions and the overall in‑store experience; resolve escalated customer concerns with professionalism and sound judgment.
- Manage store operations such as scheduling, expense control, loss prevention, audits, and reporting.
- Maintain visual merchandising standards and inventory through proper shipping and receiving procedures.
- Support store marketing events and community engagement initiatives to drive traffic and brand awareness.
- Promote accountability, creativity, and continuous learning by sharing best practices and encouraging collaboration.
- Uphold company policies, safety standards, and operational procedures.
- Practice inclusive leadership that honors diverse backgrounds, skill sets, and lived experiences, reflecting VF Values and brand identity.
What do you need to succeed? 3–5 years of related professional/retail management experience, a high school diploma (associate’s degree preferred). Foundational skills include:
- Proven ability to drive results through store teams and exceed sales and profit goals.
- Skilled in coaching, motivating, and building high‑performing, diverse teams.
- Strong verbal and written communication; ability to influence across all levels.
- Solution‑oriented and flexible in a fast‑paced, dynamic retail environment.
- Capable of working independently, managing shifting priorities, and meeting business expectations.
- Comfortable using word processing, spreadsheets, and retail software tools.
- Physical ability to stand, move, bend, reach, and lift light to moderate weight for extended periods.
Hiring Range: $80,000.00
USD – $USD annually
Incentive Potential: Eligible for additional compensation awards, including an annual incentive plan, sales incentive, or commission.
