Account Executive- Group

Medical Mutual is an Ohio-based health insurance company serving more than 1.2 million members with a range of plans, including health, life, disability, dental, vision, indemnity, group coverage (fully insured and self-funded), stop loss, Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement, and individual plans.

This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per week on-site in the Brooklyn, Ohio office.

Responsibilities include managing group health renewals, servicing small groups (less than 51 enrolled), facilitating and negotiating renewal processes, advising brokers on products, trends, and plan functions, and maintaining strong relationships with agencies and centers of influence. The role supports renewal strategies and cross-sells within the Medical Mutual family of companies and maintains renewal pipelines and related documentation.

• Develops and executes renewal strategies to retain current clients while pursuing cross-sell opportunities within the MMO Family of Companies, aiming for targeted retention rates.
• Provides account management services and education on the Medical Mutual Small Group Service Model; handles service issues as needed.
• Updates and maintains the CRM database (renewal dispositions, competitive data, account management documentation, broker appointments, and related activities). Documents activities for annual performance reviews and maintains renewal pipeline and monthly audit reports.
• Establishes and maintains relationships with brokers/agencies and clients through quarterly meetings and center of influence events.
• Stays current with ODI licensure, company products, policies, practices, and industry regulations and innovations.
• Collaborates with Sales Consultants to identify agency/broker-related sales and retention strategies.
• Participates in group meetings as needed (renewal or service-related).
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
• In lieu of degree, may consider an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2 years of experience in health insurance account management or sales/marketing in the healthcare industry.
• Experience working with brokers/insurance agencies preferred.

• Accident, Health, and Life License with the Ohio Department of Insurance (ODI) (required to obtain within 4 months of hire).

• Knowledge of health insurance products and services, sales processes, underwriting, stop loss, benefit plan design, and related regulations including HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, and ACA.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills including PowerPoint and proficiency with Customer Relationship Management systems.
• Knowledge of fundamental sales and customer service principles and best practices.
