Position: Account Administrator-Small Group

Note:
This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per week on-site in our Brooklyn, Ohio office. Seeking applicants that reside within a 50-mile radius of the Brooklyn, Ohio office.

Provides administrative support to account managers, brokers and other external and internal areas such as underwriting, membership, claims and customer service for existing accounts in the small group (1‑50 sized) market segment.

Responsibilities

Account Administrator – Small Group

  • Responds to and coordinates broker inquiries via phone, e‑mail, chat and intake tickets through the CRM system.
  • Reviews renewal and add‑on sales submissions for completeness and compliance with underwriting regulations. Follows up with broker and internal areas on any outstanding requirements.
  • Processes benefit changes in accordance with departmental policies.
  • Assists broker offices and small group customers with maintenance and security issues on the Company’s web based systems.
  • Stays current on product and process changes, industry trends, and governmental regulatory changes. Participates in staff meetings and webinars.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Senior Account Administrator – Small Group

  • Responds to and coordinates broker inquiries via phone, e‑mail, chat, and intake tickets through the CRM system. Responds to escalated or more complex issues.
  • Reviews renewal and add‑on sales submissions for completeness and compliance with underwriting regulations. Follows up with broker and internal areas on any outstanding requirements. Completes peer review of submissions.
  • Processes routine to complex benefit changes in accordance with departmental policies.
  • Assists broker offices and small group customers with maintenance and security issues on the Company’s web based systems.
  • Develops and maintains process and procedures guidelines. Orients, trains and assists more junior level staff. Helps plan and lead team meetings.
  • Participates in special projects and renewal initiatives and/or continuous improvement teams.
  • Stays current on product and process changes, industry trends, and governmental regulatory changes and shares information with staff. Participates in staff meetings and webinars.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Account Administrator – Small Group

Education and Experience
  • Associate degree in business or healthcare administration, marketing/communications or related field.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the role may substitute for a degree.
  • 3 years of account management support and/or customer service experience preferably in health insurance and/or working with insurance brokers.
Technical Skills and Knowledge
  • Familiarity with health insurance products and sales and service operations procedures.
  • Basic proficiency with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.

Sr Account Administrator – Small Group

Education and Experience
  • Associate degree in business or healthcare administration, marketing/communications or related field.
  • Equivalant combination of education and experience directly related to the role may substitute for a degree.
  • 5 years of progressive account management support and/or customer service experience in health insurance or related industry.
Technical Skills and Knowledge
  • Knowledge of health insurance products and sales and service procedures (underwriting, stop loss, benefit plan design, funding, and related government regulations).
  • Intermediate proficiency with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
