• Uphold the Security Department’s Prime Directives, focusing on protecting the safety and security of venue guests, employees, and assets.
• Resolve escalated security situations and provide warnings to guests who do not comply with venue policies.
• Assist with directional and informational inquiries and document all incidents.
• Represent Barclays Center and the Security Department in an exemplary manner.
• Apply logical thinking to address practical problems and perform varied and complex tasks efficiently.
Staff Supervision• Deploy staff for events, assigning shifts, breaks, and necessary equipment.
• Train staff in basic guest service and security skills and monitor interactions with venue guests, clients, artists/athletes, and employees.
• Provide leadership, guidance, mentorship, and timely feedback. Communicate escalated employee issues and administer performance reviews, counseling, and disciplinary documentation as needed.
Building Security Supervision (24/7)• Supervise building posts, conduct daily inventories, perform equipment checks, and coordinate with service providers.
• Assist with updating SOPs and maintain knowledge of fire alarm, ISS, access control, and visitor management systems.
• Enforce hourly building patrols and ensure safe evacuation procedures.
Candidate Profile & Qualifications• Available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous security experience with a valid NYS Security Guard Card License and F03 Fire Guard license.
• Experience in a sports/entertainment facility or law enforcement preferred.
• At least 1-2 years of supervisory experience.
• Ability to multitask, maintain relationships with building personnel, guests, visitors, clients, and vendors.
• Successful criminal background check and employment verification.
• Strong teamwork etiquette, adaptability, grooming, and professionalism.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 50 pounds and walk/stand and climb stairs for more than 4 hours.
