Security Officer - Security - Day Shift and Rotating Weekends

Brooklyn, New York

Shift: Day (United States of America) – 7:00am to 3:00pm, full‑time. Includes holidays and rotating weekends at NYP/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital.

As a Security Officer on the Security team at New York‑Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, you will maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff while upholding the hospital’s commitment to compassionate, humane, quality care.

• Provide a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and employees.
• Perform all duties assigned consistent with New York Methodist Hospital’s security policies.
• Respond to incidents and emergencies, coordinating with clinical and administrative staff.
• Maintain accurate incident reports and documentation.

• At least one year of security experience in a hospital or related medical setting.
• Valid driver’s license.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of 8‑ and 16‑hour security courses required by New York State.
• Completion of NYS Security License.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 90 days of hire and renewal every two years.
• Demonstrated ability to write and communicate effectively with staff and visitors.
• Basic computer literacy.

Full‑time day shift with holidays and rotating weekends. On‑site presence required; employees should live within commutable distance to NYP; the hospital does not reimburse travel expenses.
