Hood Cleaner Job Description

Location: Brooklyn, OH, 44144

The purpose of the Hood Technician position is to assist and be responsible for cleaning the grease off the cooking exhaust systems of commercial kitchens.

• Work after hours once facilities are closed, in and outside
• Often work alone with a helper and must be able to interact professionally with restaurant management and staff and be honest and trustworthy
• Inspections, clean up and some maintenance
• Taking photos of work
• Driving to and from job to shop
• Filling out paperwork
• Keeping truck and machine in working condition
• Roof, filters, working safely with ladders and chemicals
• Getting to pre-scheduled appointments on time
• Other duties as assigned.

At least 1-2 years proven prior experience cleaning kitchen exhaust systems.

HS Diploma or equivalent, required.

• When required, must also be able to:
• Ability to perform physical tasks, such as lifting, carrying, and climbing ladders.
• Ability to be exposed to dust, fumes, smoke, and steam
• Ability to use tools and equipment, such as gauges, scales, wrenches, and hoses.
• Must be able to work in, on, around, over, and under fixed equipment and machinery.
• Work from lifts, ladders, and scaffolding
• Manipulate heavy equipment, tools, and supplies and/or exert 70 lbs.
• Work in hazardous or irritating environments, confined spaces, and adverse weather or temperature conditions
• Wear and work in personnel protective equipment.

Candidates must reside within a reasonable distance from our Brooklyn location.

Must be willing to submit to post offer background and drug screen.
