Job Description & How to Apply Below
We are looking for a detail-oriented Fiber Splicer to join our field team. In this role, you will serve as the technical lead on-site, responsible for the precision splicing, testing, and activation of our fiber network. This is a great fit for someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in high‑quality craftsmanship, and thrives in an environment where safety and production standards are top priorities.
Key Responsibilities- Perform end‑to‑end splicing on aerial and underground fiber optic cables. You will handle everything from pulling fiber through conduits to securing cables in commercial and new‑build environments.
- Use OTDRs, power meters, and light‑level testing to verify signal performance. You will be the go‑to resource for diagnosing splice loss, attenuation, and general network issues.
- Interpret engineered blueprints and splice diagrams to guide your work. You will be responsible for creating accurate as‑built documentation and marking up maps to reflect real‑world installations.
- Self‑supervise job sites to ensure all safety protocols are followed. You will manage daily production reports, track material reconciliation, and maintain an organized inventory of tools and hardware.
- Act as the face of the company when communicating with property owners or residents, ensuring all questions are handled professionally.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience with fusion splicing, fiber ribbon stripping, and fiber architecture.
- Comfortable using Google Earth for site navigation and mapping, EXFO/OTDR software for testing, and Excel or Google Sheets for data tracking and production reporting.
- Ability to read and interpret complex splice matrices and technical PDFs.
- Ability to handle the physical demands of fieldwork (aerial and underground), with a willingness to work flexible hours and overtime.
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
- 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan
- Paid Holidays
- Paid Time Off (PTO)
- Profit Sharing
