Job SummaryAs a Fiber Splice Technician, you will serve as the technical lead in the field, performing fiber splicing, testing, activation, troubleshooting, and documentation activities.
Key Responsibilities- Perform end-to-end splicing on aerial and underground fiber optic cables.
- Use OTDRs, power meters, and light-level testing equipment.
- Diagnose splice loss, attenuation, and network issues.
- Interpret blueprints, splice diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Create accurate as-built documentation.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Manage daily production reports and material reconciliation.
- Maintain organized inventories of tools and hardware.
- Communicate professionally with property owners and residents.
- Experience with fusion splicing and fiber architecture.
- Experience with Google Earth, EXFO/OTDR software, and spreadsheets.
- Ability to read splice matrices and technical PDFs.
- Ability to perform aerial and underground field work.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to pass drug screening and background check.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
