We are seeking an energetic Permit Specialist to join our team. Our ideal candidate pays exceptional attention to details, possesses the ability to work with deadlines, and has excellent customer service skills.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year permitting experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Must have a valid driver's license with good driving record
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to ensure all deadlines are achieved
What you will do:
  • Setting tasks for missing documents in company database(s) and via inner-company communications
  • Send status communications to customers regarding their projects
  • Recording permits, NOCs (through Simplefile) and other documents
  • Prep permit applications for projects and create permit packet
  • Submit permits through different building departments (city and county) both online and in-person
  • Meet with clients when necessary (to sign permit applications)
  • Collect signed and sealed engineering plans
  • Close out permits
  • Post permit at job site and call-in inspections when necessary
  • Ensure that annual renewal authorization letters are up to date (renewed) for each county or building office
  • Thoroughly review contracts and/or engineering plan before submitting for permits
  • Regularly update permit information needed by county and building departments
  • Proactively follow up with pending permits and engineering reports with a sense of urgency
  • Strategically map out plan for dropping off and collecting permits to ensure time efficiency
  • Consistently update records in company’s CRM (i360)
  • Consistently communicate and document updates to status of permits and engineering reports to relevant entities (clients, internal staff, etc.)
  • Take total ownership of permitting process
  • Make it your mission in life to secure permits for projects as fast as possible in our effort to redefine the customer experience in construction
  • Complete any required trainings, videos, workbooks, etc. as deemed necessary by management
  • Other duties will be assigned, based on company’s needs
  • Provides customers with a remarkable experience
  • Cross-train on all levels of Customer Care when needed
