The Occupational Therapist is responsible for managing the complete process of occupational therapeutic care for an assigned group of patients, conducting assessments, developing individualized care plans, and administering or directing therapy interventions in accordance with hospital policies and applicable regulations. This role requires a strong commitment to patient engagement, goal achievement, and a positive patient experience.
Responsibilities- Treat disabilities, injuries and disease using therapeutic techniques per physician prescriptions and perform testing and evaluation procedures on patients.
- Record and document patient observations, treatments and changes in condition; monitor, analyze, and review clinical data.
- Reevaluate and modify treatment plans and goals based on patient performance.
- Communicate clearly and provide explanations of care in a way that patients and families can easily understand.
- Ensure patient families are informed of patient status.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy (Master’s preferred).
- Current Florida Occupational Therapist license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through AHA.
- Functional Independence Measure (FIM) certification within 90 days of hire.
- Experience in an appropriate healthcare setting preferred.
- Critical thinking, service excellence and strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and PC proficiency.
