ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Drive continuous improvement strategies focusing on process improvements on the production floor.
- Support receiving inspection (receiving inspectors) by developing inspection plans, measuring parts dimensionally, testing products, creating and disposition of DMRs, communicating supplier non‑conformances, issuing/closing supplier corrective actions, and maintaining the QA hold area per specified requirements.
- Assist the Quality Assurance Manager with supplier development activities, including supplier on‑site audits.
- Support the implementation, continued use, and maintenance of the D4 software system at MMUSA.
- Assist with the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of ISO 9001 QMS at all locations in MMUSA.
- Perform internal auditing of the QMS.
- Investigate and substantiate customer complaints, incorporating feedback into the QMS through corrective and preventive actions.
- Facilitate Advanced Product Quality Planning techniques to achieve organizational product quality levels, using company metrics and visual aids or work instructions to raise employee awareness on the production floor.
- Interface with Engineering and Operations (Production) in a team environment to ensure transfer of new products to production meets approved data and expected quality levels.
- Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of in‑process and final inspection activities.
- Act as deputy to the Quality Assurance Manager in his/her absence.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent, and at least 3 years of progressively responsible experience in quality management and assurance.
OTHER SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE- Solid knowledge of various engineering disciplines, procedures and policies that support business development.
- ERP experience required.
- Good project management and documentation skills.
- Strong engineering concepts and disciplines.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong decision‑making skills.
- Understanding of ISO 9000, 5S, and TQM.
- Experience with lean manufacturing principles (Six Sigma).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to convey the “how to” and “why” of quality to employees in an understandable and actionable way.
No direct supervisory responsibilities.
LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization, displaying utmost professionalism in all verbal and written communications.
MATHETICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute rates, ratios, margins, and percentages and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply common sense and systematic, structured critical thinking to follow written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions; identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions through deductive and inductive reasoning.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSURES, REGISTRATIONSCurrent valid driver’s license. Must be able to travel as required. American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) is preferred, but not required.
