Administrative Assistant
Delaware County Community College (DCCC), located outside of the Philadelphia Metro area, is looking for a dedicated and dynamic part-time Administrative Assistant to join our team of higher education professionals who are committed to student success.
Reporting to the Director of Disability Services, the administrative assistant will be responsible for following and assisting students with the ODS accommodations process and procedures. The candidate would provide general administrative support, including answering phone and email inquiries, greeting students, and discussing our procedures, documenting student point of contact, and working collaboratively with the ODS team on special projects/tasks. This position acts as a liaison between the ODS team and staff/faculty across the college, as well as the broader community.
EssentialFunctions
- Provide administrative support to the ODS team, including but not limited to scanning, printing, and emailing documents or correspondences.
- Welcome and assist students and visitors as they enter the office.
- Utilize applications such as Banner, Adobe, Microsoft Office Suite, and Simplicity Accommodate.
- Duplicate and collate materials, as necessary.
- Secure and maintain confidential materials related to students within the department.
- Maintain organization for secured digital student case files.
- Provide timely and accurate response and information to prospective and current students and other visitors (including faculty/staff).
- Assist with event coordination and set up (tabling, fairs, etc.)
- Responsible for ordering materials, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Disability Services
The successful candidate must be an engaging, effective, innovative, dynamic collaborator who will have demonstrated knowledge of the best practices associated with administrative support, and customer service. This individual will have access to sensitive student and community member information and is expected to handle such information within confidential information guidelines and with integrity and professionalism. The successful candidate will also actively participate in creating an environment that encourages, models, embraces, and incorporates diverse thoughts and perspectives of all individuals of various backgrounds, ideas, and perspectives to foster an all-inclusive atmosphere and drive results.
Experience& Education
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of two (2) years of administrative/office management related experience, technical training, or equivalent combination of education & experience. Prior related experience in an educational setting is preferred. High School diploma/GED or equivalent required;
Associates degree from an accredited institution or equivalent combination of education & experience is preferred.
Background Clearances:
Act 153 Clearances (Act 34 PA Criminal Background History, Act 151 PA Child Abuse History, Act 114 FBI Clearance);
