Creating Academic, Social, and Ethical Leaders Hiring Range: $60,591 - $72,108
Provides instructional leadership by building teacher & staff capacity and increasing student achievement at the K8 level. Leads the K8 content department and builds the capacity of the department to analyze data to improve instruction by focusing on coordination of the instructional program and collaboration among all staff within the department and across teams. Contributes to building and sustaining a community of professional learners by planning and facilitating PD opportunities, working directly with adults to support instructional program implementation, and observing teachers and staff to assist them in improving teaching & learning.
Develops and leads the K8 MTSS process, ensuring that accelerated and enriched instruction and intervention support are available for all students and oversees the provision of Tier II support for students by classroom teachers, intervention paras, and grade-level instructional paras.
Essential duties and responsibilities include providing coaching, mentoring, and content support to develop teachers and staff; managing instructional resources and providing training on their use; supporting the effective use of instructional technology in classrooms; planning and implementing staff development activities; leading the content department to ensure the implementation of the instructional program; developing and leading the K8 MTSS process and overseeing the provision of Tier II support by classroom teachers, instructional and intervention paras;
participating in the school leadership team to plan a school-wide instructional and assessment program; and working with the administration, school finance staff, and teachers to order, distribute, and maintain an accurate inventory of instructional materials within the department budget.
School & community engagement as full-time, salaried employees is expected to contribute to the organization's success beyond the traditional school day. This may include sponsoring a club or coaching a team (may include a stipend) and serving on committees or task forces (at least once a month).
Required education & experience includes a B.A. or B.S. required in related Science or Education fields, meeting the state certification requirements within the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), current Colorado Teaching License in applicable content area, demonstrated experience in the instruction of students with varied learning styles and levels of mastery, commitment to PRA Mission and Vision, commitment to the implementation of Character Education and Positive Behavior System, thorough knowledge of curriculum, assessment, and instruction, understanding of the development of learners across K-8, an exemplary teacher with success in increasing student achievement, ability to work well with students, teachers, and administrators, outstanding facilitation, organizational, and supervisory skills, skill in providing professional development to teachers and staff, skill in providing feedback to teachers about their teaching, strong technology skills, strong skills in collecting and analyzing all data sources, and excellent oral and written communication and collaboration skills.
Physical requirements and working conditions include occasionally lifting and moving up to 25 pounds, sometimes performing outside and in all weather conditions, including possible exposure to loud noises, and work hours may occasionally be extended. Reporting relationship is to the K8 School Principal. Direct reports include ES & MS Intervention paras, ES grade level paras.
