Manufacturing Engineer
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing methods, processes, and systems that improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance. This position partners closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and HSE teams to support both custom and standard product lines. The role provides technical leadership in manufacturing process development, product support, fixture/tooling design, lean manufacturing initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
The Manufacturing Engineer independently manages projects, drives process improvements, and supports operational excellence.
- Review RFQs, customer drawings, specifications, and technical requirements.
- Develop accurate cost estimates, routings, labor standards, and material requirements.
- Prepare quotations and support pricing strategies to maintain competitiveness.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal departments to obtain lead times and costing information.
- Create and maintain BOMs, routers, and ERP data.
- Evaluate manufacturability and provide recommendations for design improvements and cost reductions.
- Develop manufacturing processes, work instructions, and tooling requirements.
- Support new product introduction, ECNs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Analyze production issues and implement corrective actions to improve quality and efficiency.
- Support capacity planning and process optimization activities.
- Provide technical support to Operations, Purchasing, Quality, and Sales.
- Participate in root cause analysis, Lean manufacturing, and cost reduction projects.
- Ensure compliance with company safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare reports and maintain engineering and quotation documentation.
- High School Diploma required. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of manufacturing engineering, estimating, or quotation experience.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Knowledge of machining, assembly, and manufacturing processes preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, product development, process engineering, or a related engineering role within a manufacturing environment.
