The Accounting Manager is a full-time, on‑site role based in Broussard, LA. This role is responsible for managing the month‑end close process, preparing and reviewing journal entries, and ensuring accurate and timely financial statement reporting in alignment with company policies and applicable standards. The Accounting Manager will oversee the maintenance of the general ledger, reconcile key accounts, monitor fixed asset activity, and coordinate with operations and finance teams to analyze results and variances.
Daily responsibilities include supervising accounting staff, reviewing work for accuracy and compliance, supporting internal and external audits, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and internal controls. The role also involves preparing management reports, assisting with budgeting and forecasting, and providing analytical support to leaders for decision‑making.
- Strong financial reporting capabilities, including experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and related disclosures.
- Proficiency in core accounting operations, including journal entries (accounting), general ledger management, and period‑end close activities.
- Experience managing fixed assets, including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and related reconciliations.
- Solid finance and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial data, perform variance analysis, and provide actionable insights.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or progress toward certification is preferred.
- Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills; experience in manufacturing or energy industries is a plus.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including supervising or mentoring accounting staff and collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
