Job Requirements
- The mechanic position is considered a non-entry level position. Mechanics are required to have, prior to employment, verifiable experience for consideration. On-the-job training will be provided specific to company policies and procedures.
- Mechanics should have knowledge of diesel engines, gasoline engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, air systems, and pump systems.
- Physical requirements include exerting 50 lbs frequently and/or occasionally, long periods of sitting, standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, and manual handling of materials. Work involves outdoor environments, working with moving equipment, repetitive motions, and manual tasks at a rapid pace.
- Willingness to be flexible with equipment types for maintenance and repair.
- Ownership or willingness to invest in personal hand tools.
- Flexibility to work a schedule that may include on-call duties and road calls, with support from the shop for special tools and parts.
Additional knowledge requirements include:
- Hydraulic, electrical systems, and pneumatics used in hydraulic/electric components on oil field equipment.
- Industrial diesel engines such as Detroit 71 and 92 series, 60 series Detroit, ISX/QSX Cummins, 855 Cummins, Caterpillar 3406C, smaller Deutz engines, and aptitude to learn larger engines like MTU 2000/4000 series and Caterpillar 3512E.
- Knowledge of Alliston 700 series transmissions, larger Allison variants including 4000 series, manual transmissions like Eaton 8LL, 13, 15, and 10 speeds.
- Understanding of drive lines, component wear assessment, and proper timing.
- Ability to R&R clutches, install, and adjust them correctly.
- Familiarity with diagnostic programs for diesel engines.
Experience
- 8-10 years of relevant experience.
- Aptitude to learn electrical and hydraulic components used in coiled tubing and pumping packages in oil field settings.
- Experience with Coil Tubing and Pumping is advantageous.
