Extension is seeking a Staff Accountant for a direct hire opportunity with one of our clients located in Brown Deer, WI.

Key Objectives / Role Responsibilities
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
- Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and supporting schedules
- Perform account reconciliations and research discrepancies
- Review general ledger activity and assist with financial reporting and analysis
- Support accounts receivable, accounts payable, and cash-related accounting activities
- Assist with customer billing, account reconciliations, and resolving discrepancies
- Support inventory accounting, standard costing, and manufacturing cost activities
- Analyze material, labor, and overhead variances
- Prepare financial reports, project/management analysis, and ad hoc reporting
- Assist with audits, internal controls, and tax/compliance-related activities
- Identify and implement process improvements across accounting and finance
- Partner with other departments to ensure accurate financial information and reporting
- Provide backup support across various accounting functions as needed
Desired Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- 3-5+ years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and GAAP
- Experience with month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and lookup functions
- Experience working with an ERP/accounting system
Salary Information
- $60k - $80k/year
