Robotics Integration & Automation Commissioning Engineer – Custom Systems & Vision
Location: Brown Deer area facility (within a 45‑minute driving radius) with 30–40% travel.
Employment: Direct‑Hire.
Work Mode: 100% onsite shop / field mix.
$40–$50 per hour ($83,200–$104,000 baseline annually) plus overtime eligibility and benefits.
Key Responsibilities- Start up and initialize complex industrial robotic platforms from scratch, including frame calibration, mastering, and multi‑protocol I/O communication configurations.
- Design complete robot programming architecture, ensuring seamless handshaking between articulated arms, PLC programs, and material handling platforms.
- Collaborate with project leads through build, run‑off, and debug lifecycle to meet customer performance cycle times.
- Provide technical guidance during mechanical and electrical assembly, troubleshoot wiring faults, and optimize end‑of‑arm tooling.
- Integrate, calibrate, and program advanced vision systems for high‑speed inspection, sorting, and precision guidance.
- Partner with application engineering groups to offer real‑time technical insight for new automation concepts and project quoting.
- Mentor shop assembly technicians and junior personnel to maintain high build efficiencies.
- 4–6 years hands‑on experience commissioning robotic arms and PLC‑controlled industrial equipment.
- Experience with robotic offline simulation, ladder logic, and CAD/Solid Works environments.
- Expert diagnostic skills across robotic, electrical, fluid power, and mechanical safety domains.
- Background in vision hardware set‑up, troubleshooting, and programming.
- Willingness to travel 30–40% of the year globally.
- Strong professional stability with long‑term career commitment.
- Completed 2‑year or 4‑year engineering degree (Electrical, Mechanical, Automation, or Software Technology). United States citizen or Green Card holder only (no sponsorship).
