This is an opportunity to join a rapidly growing, market-leading manufacturing innovator celebrated for its employee-centric philosophy and exceptional team retention. Operating an automated production facility in the Brown Deer area, the company completely rejects typical corporate politics, treating its technical staff as a premier asset and fostering a collaborative, close-knit engineering and maintenance environment.

This high-visibility, technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) role is designed for an automation veteran looking to transition away from chaotic off-shifts and step into a strategic lead position. Rather than managing basic, reactive repairs, you will serve as the plant's ultimate authority on high-capacity automation lines and complex robotic logic. The organization actively values and rewards long-term technical contributions through a multi-tiered bonus structure and a highly structured career path.

It is the ideal setup for a dedicated professional looking to secure a premier day‑shift home while managing sophisticated, high‑tech industrial challenges.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Automation Floor Diagnostics:
Performing advanced diagnostics, systemic logic reviews, and precision repairs on high‑capacity industrial automation, complex robotics, and integrated manufacturing lines.
  • PLC Subject Matter Expertise:
Acting as the plant's Technical SME for Allen Bradley and Siemens PLCs, executing advanced troubleshooting, monitoring live code, and optimizing system control logic to enhance throughput.
  • Schematic Interpretation:
Reading and interpreting intricate mechanical blueprints and sophisticated electrical schematics to resolve high‑level component failures and intermittent control loop issues.
  • Fluid Power & Power Distribution:
Executing comprehensive preventative maintenance and repairs on multi‑phase AC/DC electrical distribution systems, advanced pneumatics, and high‑pressure hydraulic circuits.
  • Structural Modification:
Utilizing precision welding and custom fabrication skills to modify machine structures, reinforce heavy assemblies, or repair critical machine components on‑site.
  • Technical Mentorship:
Collaborating closely with production management to systematically drive down operational downtime while providing technical coaching and mentorship to junior maintenance technicians.
What We Are Looking For
  • Automation Maintenance Legacy: A proven track record of nearly a decade or more managing complex automated systems within a high‑volume, continuous‑production manufacturing setting.
  • Advanced Diagnostic Instincts:
Expert‑level capability tracking down multi‑variant automation faults across overlapping robotic, electrical, electronic control, fluid power, and mechanical safety domains.
  • Electro‑Mechanical Fundamentals:
Deep, comprehensive knowledge of heavy industrial pneumatics, hydraulic valving, power distribution, and safe high‑voltage plant practices.
  • Employment Reliability: A rock‑solid, stable work history demonstrating long‑term career commitment and technical growth with previous organizations; frequent job‑hopping is a disqualifier.
