Up to $15,000 Retention Bonus Available! The registered nurse (RN, RN II, RN III) performs professional nursing activities in the care of patients so they may achieve or regain, and then maintain, maximum physical, emotional or social functions.
Role functions are governed by the Nurse Practice Act, the Administrative Code (in the state of employment), as well as the professional standards for nursing practice, and the corresponding policies and procedures of Rogers Memorial Hospital (Rogers). The registered nurse seeks consultation with other members of the health team as the patient’s condition and treatment goals warrant. He/She, in conjunction with the Patient Accounts department, provides patient information to ensure compliance with federal and state statutes.
Responsibilities- Implement patient care.
- Assess patients both physically and mentally.
- Collaborate with Psychiatrist, Therapist, Dietitians, and other members of our clinical team to develop appropriate plans of care.
- Communicate with patients and their families.
- Administer medication.
Part‑time and full‑time opportunities are available (20‑40 hours/week). Shift times include Day (7:00am–3:30pm or 7:00am–7:30pm), PM (3:00pm–11:30pm), and NOC (11:00pm–7:30am or 7:00pm–7:30am). Shift availability is subject to inquiry.
Education and Training Requirements- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Registered nurse licensed by State Board of Nursing in the state of employment, in good standing.
- American Health Association Healthcare Provider CPR certification, or required within 30 days of hire; bi‑annual recertification required.
- Formal training in management of the aggressive patient required within 60 days of hire; annual recertification required.
- Previous psychiatric experience with children, adolescents and adults preferred.
- At the hospital’s discretion, may be required to hold a qualified medical professional (QMP) designation; must be deemed competent as outlined in the Medical Staff bylaws.
- Employees in the Child/Adolescent Day Treatment programs licensed under HFS §40 must have either training in psychiatric nursing with children or at least one year of experience working with these children.
