The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) provides clinical and administrative supervision of all functions in the unit/department during the designated shift, serving as a resource for staff and ensuring the delivery of high‑quality, patient‑centered care. The CNC also supports the multidisciplinary team by directing, monitoring, and evaluating patient care under nursing leadership.
Schedule:
9 AM, 36 hours a week. Week 1:
Sunday, Tuesday, Friday. Week 2:
Tuesday, Friday, Saturday.
- Oversee patient care and safety, advocating for patients and families.
- Provide expertise in the seclusion and restraint process and assist when patients experience compliance struggles.
- Support patients and the treatment process with consistent encouragement.
- Monitor staff to ensure an efficient, safe, and productive work environment, delegating assignments as needed.
- Coaching and support staff under the direction of nursing leadership.
- Oversee orientation of new employees, providing direction and coaching.
- Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient throughput and high‑quality, patient‑centered care.
- Participate in ongoing assessment of patient care quality collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team.
- Identify and implement program revisions and unit metrics based on patient and staff feedback and performance improvement metrics.
- Operationalize nursing strategies such as rounding, incident reporting, and other initiatives to improve engagement.
- Assist with staff scheduling and manage labor in accordance with patient care needs and productivity guidelines.
- Support inventory control and manage supplies and equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain current knowledge of department processes, protocols, and procedures, pursuing self‑directed learning, continuing education, and committee participation as directed by management.
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Registered nurse licensed by the State Board of Nursing in the state of employment, in good standing.
- Psychiatric‑Mental Health Nursing Certification (PMH‑BC) preferred.
- Two (2) years of experience as an RN in behavioral health preferred.
- Experience as a team lead, preceptor, or trainer preferred.
- American Heart Association Healthcare Provider CPR certification required within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter.
- Formal training in the management of aggressive patients required within 60 days of hire and annually thereafter.
