Pre-Kindergarten teacher that works collaboratively to develop both academic and social skills of primary age students. Utilizes a variety of teaching methods and resources for each subject area taught. Comprehends the principals of student growth, development, and learning, and applies them appropriately. Utilizes student assessment techniques and procedures. Adapts the instruction to meet the needs of individual students. Works collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and community members.
Supervises the paraprofessional assigned to the classroom. ESL preferred. (District pays one time ESL testing fee and posting fee.) Salary:
Commensurate with Compensation Manual

PrimaryPurpose:
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
Qualifications:Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned
Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
Special Knowledge/
Skills:
Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience:
At least one year student teaching or approved internship
MajorResponsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Strategies
Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.
Supervise assigned teacher aide(s).
Working Conditions:Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling and pushing. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.
