Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager oversees the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, tax filings, and project budgeting. This role works closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial planning, cost tracking, and project profitability. The successful candidate brings hands-on accounting expertise, strong communication skills, and sound financial judgment, and collaborates effectively across multiple departments.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
  • Manage and coordinate all tax filings to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Develop, manage, and monitor budgets for company projects, including tracking costs and analyzing project profitability.
  • Collaborate closely with leadership and internal teams to support accurate financial planning and decision-making.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial reports to provide clear and timely insights to stakeholders.
  • Lead and manage the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and adherence to deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate financial records in Quick Books and ensure proper documentation of all transactions.
  • Communicate financial information clearly and effectively to non-financial stakeholders across departments.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Support internal inquiries related to budgets, expenses, and financial performance for ongoing and upcoming projects.
Essential Skills
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Quick Books.
  • Proven experience developing and managing budgets for projects.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing and coordinating tax filings.
  • Solid understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  • Proficiency in month-end closing activities and financial reporting.
  • Strong Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Sound financial judgment and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

  • Experience working in a cross-functional environment with leadership, purchasing, and engineering or similar teams.
  • Ability to analyze project costs and profitability and present findings clearly.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all financial work.
  • Comfort working in a hands-on accounting role in a small to mid-sized organization.
Work Environment

This is an in-office position with a standard schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The work environment is described as fun and relaxed, offering a professional setting without overtime expectations. You will work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams and use tools such as Quick Books and Excel as part of your daily responsibilities.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.27 - $52.99/hr.
